| What is Abertees? AberTees is a partnership between Boyd & MaLaine Strope and MaLaine's father, Loren Tejkl, Sr. When we began raising Shorthorn cattle in 1996, we needed a farm name, but we wanted something other than 'Strope & Tejkl Cattle Company'." So, we did a little research. Boyd grew up with Angus cattle, but MaLaine and Loren had always favored Shorthorn cattle. The family wanted to continue to raise good cattle of both breeds. Angus cattle originated in Aberdeen, Scotland, and Shorthorns came from the Tees Valley of Scotland. So the name "AberTees" was formed to show off the heritage of both great breeds of cattle...two breeds in which we believe in and plan on being an active part of for years to come. |
